mach10 SG Splurge? I dun think that's splurging... and most tycoon know better than spending on such a thing on water. In Fact I quite pity the lives of people on board, really, there's not much to enjoy...
Rhonda SG Eh... if that's not splurging, what is? Splurging means wasting money on extravagant, sometimes frivolous things. This fits the bill mah - it's a total ostentatious good. And... you know a lotta tycoons meh? Wah, can speak for them like that, ah? My parents and friends know tycoons who ... SURPRISE!! ... actually spend good money on personal yachts, which are technically, also 'thing(s) on water'! Basically, if you have a wide social circle, you'll find that things you used to think were ludicrous or ridiculous, can actually happen one! And I've personally been in close enough contact with two to three tycoons to know that the mighty rich can have super quirky habits and preferences one!
Rhonda SG What's there to pity? It's not like they're imprisoned on board wor... they CHOSE to be on board! It can be such a luxurious lifestyle! Massage, fine dining, etc. Different people have different concepts of what is fun, what is relaxing. One man's meat is another man's poison. If I ever marry a tycoon, I'd LOVE to spend a few months every year on board that luxury ship, man!
Rhonda SG If you get a job on board, can help me check if they need a Missy on board too? I don't mind being a Private Nurse to some tycoon either!
skeujin SG the ship was huge!!!! walking into it was like walkg into the main atrium was like walkg into a shopping centre. another gigantic ship tt ever came to port is called 'the legend of the seas' it put the virgo to shame....
skeujin SG im sure such crafts come complete with its own mini hospital facilities. must tend to all the rich old men in case they kena heart attack, indigestion or viagra overdose.......
skeujin SG i dun tink the shops sther will have much business... 110 suites tt may not b fully occupied at all times n oni 88 guest rooms.... tink most shopping will b done wen they hit the ports of call...
Rhonda SG As long as when we're at sea and there's shopping, can liao! When I was in Baltimore for a month, I couldn't drive and didn't own a vehicle and public transport there was pretty yucks and without a car, you really cannot access a lot of places in the US. And so, almost everyday, after my clinical attachment, I'd hang out at the hospital gift shop. I soooo gian shopping that even the gift shop could keep me entertained! Sometimes, really got nothing to buy, but buy a pen or sweet or magazine or postcard also good enough. Methinks I might be a shopping addict.
skeujin SG no need to think. i confirm tt u r one.... i dun really shop but if i travel i always try to get some stuf for my close frens. n always sumthg for myslf tt will remind me of the trip...
Rhonda SG When I travel, I usually buy souvenirs to remind me of the trip too. I think that's a but-of-course kinda thing for almost everyone, unless you're one of those seasoned travellers who travel so often that you become sian liao! Usually, I end up with such fat and heavy luggage on my way back that sometimes, don't have space to buy souvenirs for some friends! I'm always amazed by folks who can bring home a lotta snacks and souvenirs to distribute cuz, waaaaah... got SOOOO much luggage space meh?
The man who was death SG Dun want later become titanic, but on hindsight maybe, if i get to draw kate winslet’s boobies.
littlestream SG We are not seasoned travellers but hubby is not a souvenirs buyer. Because I have a crappy camera, I usually buy postcards to compliment my picture taking of places of interest. Hubby said "no need lah, just print off the internet, can liao!" *ahem*
